About No Feathers Please!

D. Schlehuber

Hi and welcome to No Feathers Please! Owner, operator Deb Schlehuber has been on a long and winding road in creating and starting this website.

Looking back, it seems the call to organic living while trying to create a more restful and clean sleeping environment to lessen allergy problems had been there for years.

Or as Deb stated, “I was just looking for a way to put it all together and that’s when No Feathers Please was hatched”.

While continuing to grow in her knowledge of e-commerce, Deb currently works as an airline employee (over 25 years), has sold water filters, air purifiers and Pampered Chef products. Along the way she has practiced organic gardening and cooking for over 14 years and maintains a year round herb garden.

In her other, current work life as an airline employee, Deb has spent many years trying to sleep on less than the greatest bed linens and in rooms that are not always healthy or dust free.  More than ready to enjoy a good’s nights rest in a clean healthy bedroom environment back at home, Deb started on a quest to find down and feather free bedding that is also hypoallergenic, healthy, safe and organic for folks that suffer from allergies or just want to be free of all the non-organic irritants that remain in commercially manufactured bedding long after non-organic processing.

As she found out, there are lots of  “sort of” organic bedding lines out there and many are not completely or truly organic, natural, chemical and pesticide free, or they had those darn feathers and down in them. Often they came from places that did not always practice and maintain healthy or environmentally sound growing, harvesting or manufacturing standards.

It took some time, but Deb has found a wonderful all natural, truly organic, safe and pure line of bedding. Not only are they certified organic but manufactured to the highest standards of testing and safety available today. This wonderful line is by Pure Rest Organics which has been in existence for 15 years.  No Feathers also features a second sheet line by another great organic company called High Desert Naturals. Best of all, this is a product line made here in the USA! No China imports in any of the components or materials of these products.

Sammy and Belle, the official mascots of No Feathers Please also invite you to take a look around the website. Belle was found in a feed store hanging out with chickens and more than ready to find new quarters. Sammy was a rescue from the local animal shelter and is one of the reasons that proceeds from monthly sales are donated to our local Project Wildlife chapter.

When not on a trip away from home or working on No Feathers Please (up and running since Fall 2006), Deb can be found outside working in her organic vegetable garden or tending to a small flock of backyard chickens and those crazy ducks.

Deb can't wait to get home and rest on her organic bedding, cotton sheets and comfy kapok pillow. Here at No Feathers Please, we love our organic product line and think that you will too.

Thank you for visiting No Feathers Please and supporting USA made organics!
